App crashes repeatedly when switching between apps; Android suggests clearing cache

The app was crashing every time after switching from another app back to 27Crags. Eventually, the Android system displayed a warning that the app was crashing frequently and suggested clearing its cache. Clearing the cache temporarily resolved the issue, but crashes returned after a while, but much less frequent.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open the 27Crags app.

  2. Switch to another app (e.g. browser, messages).

  3. Return to 27Crags.

  4. Observe that the app crashes.

  5. Eventually, Android shows a system message suggesting to clear the app cache.

    Similar situation on iPhone. The state is not remembered when switching between application.

    New update for Android is in Beta test. The app should not crash anymore when switching between apps.
