Remove uncurated content filter

Remove “Show uncurated content” filter.

As a user I don’t think if the content is curated or not. Most of the time free topo is as good as premium and by default hiding those spots from the map is only causing harm to users.

Instead I would use different icons for premium and free topos. Maybe add small jewel icon on top of the premium topo or something. But do not hide free topos!

Hiding free topos by default is just confusing. Switch it around: show them by default, and change the wording to “Hide free topos”.
A current bug is that once I have filtered Genre and ticked “Show uncurated content” the setting is forgotten next time I open the filter.
Having a slightly different icon for Premium topo is a good idea!
Or how about making the premium topo icon solid, and free topo icon “rasterized”? This would serve as a warning right away that the crag info might not be updated.
On that note, how about displaying “Last updated YYYY-MM-DD” on the free topo start page.

We will change the terminology back to Premium and Free. In filters only Premium crags will be visible by default.

The problem with Free content is that no one is responsible for maintaining the information. This leads to a bad user experience because of a lack of information and access issues.

I would disagree with this. Where I’ve worked on premium topos you can see a lot of poorly made free topos around at wrong locations, with photos taken from guidebooks and only the routes inserted the person wanted to tick at the time. Some of these crags have value, some not at all. Having said this, I may need to do some cleanup, removing those crags, but then again that information will be completely lost. Some of those crags can’t be published as premium due to lack of information or access reasons.

Maybe there should be three categories; Premium, free and trash :) and a way to vote on the quality. Hiding free spots does not make sense to me when the quality is there but I do agree that there are quite many of these nonsense spots.

Personally I feel it’s unnecessary to filter them out by default. Optional filtering for would still make sense and obviously some rating system even more as standars vary quite a bit.
